COVID Relief

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anvarat Foundation supported vulnerable communities in Lucknow, Barabanki, and Hardoi through a multi-dimensional response. In partnership with Goonj and Tata Tini, it created livelihoods for 50 individuals by engaging them in cotton mask production, while also distributing masks, PPE kits, rations, sanitizers, and nutrition kits.

Anvarat set up isolation centers with oxygen support and free medication, and partnered with the Barabanki District Administration to promote vaccine awareness in hesitant areas. It also trained ASHA workers and provided oxygen cylinders, strengthening grassroots healthcare efforts. The initiative ensured safety, support, and dignity during the crisis.

Project Overview

Anvarat’s pandemic response was designed to be holistic—addressing the immediate needs of survival while also empowering communities for long-term resilience. The key components included:

Key Components:

  • Livelihood Generation through Mask Production: By engaging 50 individuals in the local production of cotton masks, Anvarat offered a source of income during an economically challenging time. This initiative supported families while promoting the use of sustainable protective gear.

  • Distribution of Essential Supplies: Critical supplies—such as cotton masks, PPE kits, ration kits, sanitizers, and nutrition packs—were distributed across affected districts. These resources ensured that even the most underserved populations had access to hygiene and nutrition.

  • Establishment of Isolation Centers: Anvarat set up 10-bed isolation centers in Barabanki and Hardoi, equipped with oxygen concentrators, medication, and volunteer care. These centers were crucial in supporting those who had limited access to formal healthcare during the peak of the crisis.

  • Vaccine Awareness Campaigns: In collaboration with local authorities, Anvarat led targeted campaigns to improve vaccine literacy and encourage uptake, particularly in regions where misinformation and mistrust were prevalent.

  • Support for Frontline Health Workers: To strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery, Anvarat supplied oxygen cylinders and conducted training sessions for ASHA workers, enhancing their capacity to manage COVID-related tasks and provide informed care within their communities.
